The GPS angel frequently took an extremely long time to acquire the GPS satellites, and would also loose lock with GPS satellites. This happened when my Garmin GPS acquired rapidly and did not loose lock, despite having a worse view of the sky from my dashboard.

Got my GPS Angel recently and like it very much. First of all, it's just tiny - about 2.5 inches wide. It also doesn't look like anything someone would want to steal because no one would know what it is. The cord is long and not the curly type, so I was able to fully conceal it from view. It gives both visual and audible warnings of red light and speed cameras. It is supposed to alert near school zones, but it's missed a couple of times. No biggie for me. It can take a minute or so to acquire the GPS signal, but once connected I've had no problems unless going under an overpass or some such obstruction. then the signal comes right back. I especially like being able to add "points of interest": You press one of the kidney shaped buttons on top and it adds that location to the database. Perfect for known speed traps. Also, there was no set up time. It worked right out of the box. And get this, online updates are free for life! So it's a great value at purchase time and over the life of the unit.

As I understand it, due to budget crunches in communities accross the country, police forces are being reduced - mostly in the traffic divisions. In their place, more red light and speed cameras are being installed all the time. They are cheap (and in some cases free) for communities to acquire and operate, they generate a steady revenue stream, they work 24 hours a day, everyday, with no days off, and they are infalliable.

I've heard the database is not 100% up to date. Fine, that may be so. I'll still take 90% - 95% protection for a one time charge for a lifetime. Woundn't you?

I had the same experience as others -- I ordered three sets. Two of the three bottom sheets shredded within a very short period of time. I love how the sheets feel and I love the deep fitted bottom. I was going to order new bottom sheets, thinking that maybe my dry scratchy feet had caused the problem. But seeing the other reviews convinces me that it would be putting good money after bad. So sorry!

I bought this sheet in March. I've used it on my bed maybe three times. I washed and dried it according to instructions. It's thinned and tearing.

I bought it to replace another Wamsutta bottom sheet. I thought the other reviewers who had problems must not have followed directions or something. No, these sheets are just terribly made. They have no durability at all. The threads dissolve in water or something.

Forty Plus dollars is pretty expensive for a disposable sheet.

I wonder if Amazon is getting counterfeits from their supplier. Wamsutta used to make great stuff.

Or maybe Wamsutta sent their manufacturing to China.

Update 10/10/2011. I contacted Wamsutta using their website more than three weeks ago. I have received absolutely no response, except the automated reply stating that they received my message. Not only are these sheets terrible quality, Wamsutta does not care about its customers at all. I'm going to try LL Bean. They stand behind their stuff.

I am a member of a search and rescue group in Oregon. I needed a hat that would keep me dry during Oregon's rainy season, which can be 8-9 months long, but not be too warm during a rigorous search. A fellow searcher has a Seattle Sombrero and loves it, so I bought one,too. I used it recently and found it to be the perfect "fit" for me! Bought this in anticipation of a summer trip to Scotland, and unfortunately it was a wise purchase. Spent an entire day walking around Edinburgh in torrential rain, topped off by sitting for two hours at the Military Tattoo - still in pouring rain. A rain hat gives much better all round visibility than a coat hood, and doesn't interfere with your hearing to the same degree. I stayed perfectly dry and warm after hours and hours of rain - just remember shake like a dog when you get under cover :-)

Recommended without reservation.

I have used my gloves when riding my bike at 30F and no rain and my fingers ended all red and hurting: not really warm for mild winter in Texas. I used my gloves when raining and, although I got to the end of my trip with my hands dry, when I got my gloves to do my ride back home they were wet inside. So, not really winter proof and not really water proof. I feel like I wasted my money and that this company has no problem making claims about their products which do not stand the simplest test. Very disappointed.

The gloves were good as far as protecting my hands in the woods from thorns,ruff brush,tall grass and downed trees and limbs. They were water proof. I thought that they would be warmer than they were. I have only worn them once and so I will give them another try. If I still experience the cold and just can't seem to warm up my hand, especially my fingers I will not use them again.

After only 2 weeks of light use the inner liner tore, before that the glove was great. Wind proof kept the cold temp at work from getting in, and had great grip. The fit was a little snug, even after measuring the hand and ordering the correct size.
I might order another pair, but still not sure.
